Brake servo and master cylinder

#1 Post by admin_johnw »

It appears that Automilan kits were provided with unbranded brake servo and master cylinder - at least mine is. Only info I have is 13/16 on master cylinder. Servo is max 200mm OD. Does anyone have info on the servo and/or the master cylinder so that I can establish what repair kit is suitable or what can be used to replace the items?

Appears an Audi A4 servo may be suitable since OD is 7" or 8" - awaiting more info to confirm or otherwise. Also appears the Automilan servo may be TRW but not yet able to identify master cylinder brand or manufacturer.

The Audi and BMW servos that I was checking were not 8" i.e. the max OD was not 8". Appears some companies identify their servos by the OD whilst others give the diameter as that of the diaphragm e.g. BMW and Audi so the actual OD can be 9" or 10". That said found that a Triumph TR6 servo is 195mm OD so is a good replacement for the Automilan supplied servo. Downside is that the mounting bolts are 90mm centres rather than 80/62mm on the Automilan servo but that should be easily accommodated on the bulkhead. Aeroflow (Rocketind.com) can provide 7" and 8" OD servos but these appear to be for motorsport or GM cars. Serck are the UK agents for these servos.
